The choice between becoming an employee or an entrepreneur is one of the most significant career decisions young people face. During the youth exchange “Employee vs Entrepreneur” in August 2025, participants examined the key differences between these paths and how to determine the right fit for their aspirations.
The Employee Path
Employees work within an established organization, contributing their skills to achieve the company’s goals. The benefits of this path include:

However, employees often have limited decision-making power and must work within the boundaries set by their employers.
The Entrepreneurial Path
Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, create their own businesses. This path offers:

Participants at the mobility activity engaged in discussions and role-playing exercises to better understand these distinctions. For instance, they compared scenarios such as managing a team versus working as part of one, or designing a product versus selling it for a company.
