The European Union (EU) is a treasure trove of opportunities for young entrepreneurs. During our youth exchange called “Employee vs Entrepreneur” in August 2025, participants delved into the various programs and initiatives available, learning how the EU supports aspiring business owners.
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs
One of the standout opportunities discussed was the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program. This initiative connects young entrepreneurs with experienced business mentors across Europe, providing:

Participants shared their excitement about this program, particularly how it could help them gain practical experience and expand their professional network.
EU Funding and Grants
The EU offers numerous funding opportunities for start-ups and small businesses, such as:

During the mobility activity, participants explored real-life examples of businesses that had successfully utilized these funds. They also learned how to research and apply for grants in their own countries.
Networking Across Borders
The youth exchange emphasized the importance of building connections. The participants formed multicultural teams to brainstorm business ideas, simulating cross-border collaboration. These activities underscored the value of the EU’s interconnected market and the ease of doing business across member states.
A Bright Future
By the end of the program, many participants felt equipped to take the first steps toward entrepreneurship, armed with knowledge about EU resources and a network of supportive peers. The EU’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship continues to inspire young people to dream big and act boldly.
