Pay it Forward!

“Pay It Forward” Seminar in Side, Turkey

From November 29th to December 5th, we had the privilege of participating in the “Pay It Forward” seminar, hosted in the beautiful coastal town of Side, Turkey. This Erasmus+ project brought together youth workers and NGO representatives from across Europe, united by a shared goal: to enhance collaboration and digital innovation in youth work.

A Journey of Growth and Collaboration

The seminar was organized by Euroactive NGO, known for their commitment to creating positive changes through innovative projects. The event aimed to bridge gaps between NGOs, focusing on improving digital competencies and fostering long-term partnerships. Over the course of the week, we engaged in workshops, strategy sessions, and networking opportunities, all designed to empower us to take our work to the next level.

Highlights of the Experience

  1. Digital Tools Workshops
Each organization shared successful digital tools and methodologies, giving participants hands-on learning experiences. From innovative outreach strategies to tools for efficient project management, we explored practical solutions that we can now implement within our own teams.

  2. Collaborative Strategy Development
We worked in groups to co-create strategies for integrating digital tools into youth work. These sessions helped us envision projects that not only improve digital outreach but also strengthen our partnerships in the long run.

  3. Networking and Partnership Building
One of the most rewarding aspects was meeting incredible individuals dedicated to youth empowerment. The structured networking sessions allowed us to form meaningful connections and lay the groundwork for future collaborations.

Exploring Side: A Town Steeped in History

When we weren’t taking part in activities, we explored the charming town of Side, known for its ancient ruins, picturesque beaches, and vibrant culture. The historic sites, such as the Temple of Apollo and the Roman theatre, added to our journey, reminding us of the importance of connecting history with innovation.

Moving Forward

As we reflect on this seminar, we feel inspired to apply what we’ve learned. From digital strategies to strengthened partnerships, the tools and knowledge gained will shape the way we approach youth work in the future.

Stay tuned as we begin implementing these strategies and share the impact of this incredible journey!
